Rihanna's penchant for permanent ink lead her to get her 17th tattoo over the weekend. The Bajan songstress visited tattoo artist Bang Bang at his shop in New York City, where she chose to get inked with an Egyptian falcon.

Her new artwork, which was done in traditional black ink, rests above her right ankle. The 24-year-old selected the falcon, with wings shaped like a gun, for its significant meaning.

"Falcon: a light that shines in the darkness! Never close their eyes during sleep," she wrote.

Besides a falcon, the "Where Have You Been" singer has tattoos that include Roman numerals on her shoulder, music notes on her foot, stars on her back and script on her neck, among others.
