Rihanna, ‘Diamonds': Singer Debuts New Single Off Seventh Album

Rihanna is the picture of happiness on “Diamonds,” the newest single off her forthcoming seventh album. The 24-year-old talent premiered the song early Wednesday morning (Sept. 26).

On the Stargate and Benny Blanco-produced effort, the Bajan songstress details a bright love she finds with her significant other. “Find light in the beautiful sea/ I choose to be happy/ You and I, you and I/ We’re like diamonds in the sky,” she sings.

“Diamonds,” which was written by singer-songwriter Sia, is a departure from Rihanna’s recent uptempo, dance-centric tracks. While there’s fun to be had on the dance floor with many of her songs like “Where Have You Been” and “Only Girl (in the World),” the lyrics on this new, hook-driven tune prove RiRi’s opting for a bit more substance.

Her seventh LP, a follow-up to 2011’s Talk That Talk, is set to arrive later this year. She’ll embark on her Diamonds World tour beginning March 8, 2013.
