Rihanna is definitely in the giving spirit this holiday season. Just weeks after she donated money to Hurricane Sandy victims, the singer has donated $1.75 million to a Barbados hospital in memory of her late grandmother.

Rihanna's grandma, Clara "Dolly' Braithwaite lost her battle to cancer earlier this year.

On Saturday (Dec. 22), Ri and her mother visited Queen Elizabeth Hospital in Brigetown, where her grandmother was a patient. She made the donation to the radiotherapy unit, which is now renamed to the Clara Braithwaite Centre for Oncology and Nuclear Medicine.

In a statement to E! News, Rihanna explained, "This was my way of giving back to Barbados, in a form of philanthropy, by assisting the QEH in its continued modernization program ... I believe that this will have a huge impact on the people of Barbados. This was all done to save lives or at least extend them."
