Rihanna Stars as Tip in Animated Movie ‘Home’ [VIDEO]

Rihanna is taking another leap into the acting world with her latest role. The pop superstar will play a little girl who saves planet earth in the animated flick 'Home.' The movie is based on the popular children’s book 'The True Meaning of Smekday' by Adam Rex.

Much like her everyday personality, RiRi's character Tip is a saucy little girl who loves her mom. After a planetary mishap, an eccentric alien named Oh (played by Jim Parsons) finds himself on Earth and looks for a place to call home.

He eventually befriends Tip and the pair go on a wild adventure. Along the way, Oh learns what it means to be human. Also joining them on their epic journey is Tip's portly cat Pig, who we think will be the big star of the movie.

This is Rihanna's second big-screen appearance after making her acting debut in the 2012 sci-fi film, 'Battleship.'

The DreamWorks Animation film 'Home' also stars Jennifer Lopez and Steve Martin. The effort is scheduled to open in theaters in March 2015.
