Worst birthday ever? Rick Ross turns 37-years-old today (Jan. 28), but after this morning he’s lucky to be alive at all.

Local 10 in South Florida reports that Ross was inside a Rolls Royce that crashed into a residential apartment building early this morning, after narrowly escaping a purported assassination attempt.

According to police, the Rolls Royce was heading east on Las Olas Blvd. when another car approached. An unidentified person inside the approaching car reportedly fired multiple shots at Ross’ vehicle.

Ross escaped the melee unharmed. And while names of the victims have been withheld for safety reasons, an employee at the Floridian diner said Rick Ross and an unidentified woman were in fact the passengers in the Rolls Royce, and that they were visibly shaken up by the shooting. Another nearby business owner also confirmed that it was Ross, noting that the MMG chief had recently purchased a home in the area.

Betty Yu at NBC6 in South Florida has shared a photo of the Rolls Royce at the scene and reports that witnesses heard more than twenty shots.
