Rick Ross has been fleshing out his Maybach Music Group imprint, most recently welcoming Wale and Meek Mill to the team. The Miami kingpin has justified his reasons for signing the two to his imprint, explaining that their unique approach makes them a cut above the rest.

"They may be unconventional, but to me, it comes naturally," he told MTV News of inking deals with the D.C. and Philadelphia spitters. The Teflon Don continued by comparing Wale to his frequent collaborator Kanye West, drawing a correlation between the two MC's approach to penning a rhyme.

"When I think about Wale, I think about Kanye," he continued. "And the kind of rhymes Wale has been laying down the last few months, since we been in the studio, I'm pretty sure there's gonna be a lot of similarities as far as the pictures that he paints. [...] Of course, Kanye is one of the greats of our time but I see that same potential in Wale."

Rawse, who signed R&B singer Teedra Moses to his label earlier this week, is planning on showcasing his team's talents with an upcoming compilation titled 'Self Made.' The album is currently scheduled for a May 24 release.
