Life imitated art for Rick Ross when the rapper was busted for marijuana possession Saturday (March 26) in Shreveport, La.

The Maybach Music Group head honcho was in town for an appearance at a local night club and was arrested when cops smelled marijuana coming from his hotel room. According to TMZ, upon further investigation, police uncovered a gram of the substance sitting in "plain view."

Ross was arrested but later released on a misdemeanor summons. Unscathed, the 35-year-old headed to his next location of Redding, Penn., the very next day. "Let no man destroy what we build #SELFMADE," he tweeted Sunday (March 27).

Ironically, Ross wasn't the only celeb arrested in Shreveport on Saturday. Philadelphia Eagles player Jason Peters, who was one of the celebrity guests at Ross' show, was arrested for playing loud music, which he refused to turn down after he was asked to do so.

No word yet on if and when he was released.

In recent months, Ross has been beefing up the roster of his Maybach Music label imprint, which is distributed through Warner Music Group, instead of his label home Def Jam. Rappers Wale, Pill, Meek Mill, and singer Teedra Moses are all part of the Maybach Music family.
