Rich the Kid scored a major feature on his latest single, “New Freezer.” The song, which premiered on Zane Lowe’s World Record show on Beats 1 today (Sept. 26), features in-demand rapper Kendrick Lamar.

Produced by Ben Jayne, the song includes a bass-heavy beat and a repetitive guitar groove. Kung Fu Kenny has the best verse as he raps about seizing the day and basking in his success.

"Rule of the day, get a view every day / Get a bitch with a tan by the pool every day / Get a clique with a plan, give a jewel every day / I never sleep, I gotta eat, I gotta dance / I Milly Rock when I get that advance," he raps.

On Lowe's Beats 1 show, Rich the Kid explained how he got Kendrick on the song. "I was in the studio recording, over at the Interscope Studios, and then my A&R Manny introduced me to Kendrick for the first time," he recalled (quotes via Genius). "Kendrick came in there, of course, it’s Kendrick Lamar, I’m like, ‘Damn, I’m in here with Kendrick, it’s just crazy.’ So he asked me to play some music for him, so I played two records that I had been recording off of my album."

"I had just recorded ‘New Freezer’ recently though," he continued. "So I had recorded that so I’m like, let me play him ‘For the Birds,’ another record I did, and then I played him ‘New Freezer.’ Right when he heard it, he was like, ‘Yo, like who else on this song?’ It’s just me. He’s like, ‘Yo I gotta get on this one! This s---’s dumb. This goes crazy.’

You will be happy to know that Rich the Kid is working on a video for the song with K. Dot and Dave Free co-directing it. In the meantime, Rich the Kid is putting the finishing touches on his upcoming project, which will feature rap cameos from Playboi Carti, Tory Lanez and Lil Wayne.
