Oh, weed. That's probably what throwback reggae star Denroy Morgan says every morning he wakes up, because once he opens his eyes, he's surrounded by several hundred pounds of pungent greenery.

As Gawker reports, the Jamaican sensation was pulled over in the Bronx borough of New York City on Wed., Sept. 14, when police discovered an inordinate amount of weed in Morgan's trunk: 25 pounds, to be exact. That's a lot of pot -- like, a felony amount. He drew the cops' attention by blowing a stoplight and not wearing a seat belt (smart).

Upon further investigation, the officers decided to search Morgan's house, where they found 310 more pounds of marijuana, which the New York Times points out has a street value between $140,000 to $350,000. That's a lot of green (pun intended)!

Morgan emigrated from Jamaica to the US in 1965 to be a music star. He was the first reggae artist signed to RCA in '84. He is currently in police custody.
