After years of paying dues, Rapsody has secured a major deal with none other than Jay Z’s Roc Nation imprint.

On Saturday (July 16), the North Carolina MC went on her Instagram account to confirm the news that she’s officially a member of the ROC. The signing makes her the first female rapper to join Roc Nation.

In the black-and-white photo, Rapsody is holding up the diamond with her hands. “Welcome to JamRoc” she writes in the caption adding the hashtags #Jamla and #Rocnation.

9th Wonder, who is the CEO of Jamla Records, also confirmed the exciting news with several photos on his IG page. In one pic, 9th, Rapsody and Jamla associate Young Guru are posing together in musical solidarity. "Throw it up. Wave the flag. @jamlarecords @rocnation," the caption reads.

"Yes @rapsody is now a @RocNation artist," tweeted Young Guru. "I told ya we not playing with Jamla. Welcome to Jam/Roc!!"

9th Wonder has a storied history with Hov. In 2003, while as a member of Little Brother, he produced “Threat” for Jay's Black Album. Since then, he's build a solid foundation in the music world and is also an Adjunct Professor at Duke University and a fellow at Harvard University.

As for Rapsody, the 28-yearold rapper as dropped several critically acclaimed project including The Idea Of Beautiful and She Got Game. But her biggest look came with her Grammy-nominated feature on Kendrick Lamar’s song, "Complexion (A Zulu Love)" from his 2015 album, To Pimp A Butterfly.
