Raekwon, Paul Wall Tapped for Upcoming Limp Bizkit Album

Popular rock/rap band Limp Bizkit has returned to the studio to record their first album in seven years and the group’s frontman Fred Durst has recruited the help of Wu-Tang’s Raekwon, and Southern rapper Paul Wall for his new masterpiece.

On Wednesday (Mar 3) Raekwon took to Twitter to announce that he was in the studio with Durst cooking up some new tracks for the album ‘Gold Cobra.’ “Yeah, my session in L.A. has been goin’ good, back in the kitchen with my dude [Fred Durst] we bout to make some music,” he wrote. The Staten Island rapper followed up a few hours later with another tweet polling fans about the possibility of taking the two bands on the road together. “Who would like to see a Wu-Tang/Limp Bizkit tour! Talk to me!” he wrote. Durst, who posted a series of recent tweets about the upcoming album, responded to Raekwon’s messages on his own Twitter account writing, “You know the werd [sic] is Wu-Tang and Bizkit crushes stages and cities across the universe.”

This will not be the first time that Limp Bizkit has collaborated with a member of the Wu-Tang Clan family. In 1999, Method Man appeared on both the single and the video for Limp Bizkit’s ‘N 2 Gether Now,’ the third single from their sophomore album ‘Significant Other.’ The track also featured some production credits from legendary producer, DJ Premier.

In addition to his current collaboration with Bizkit, Raekwon is also reportedly working on his upcoming release ‘The Heart of a Champion.’ Limp Bizkit’s fifth studio album ‘Gold Cobra’ is scheduled for a 2010 release.
