All hail the queen! Actress Queen Latifah was a big winner at the 2016 Screen Actor’s Guild Awards on Saturday (Jan. 30). The 45-year-old star nabbed a trophy for Outstanding Performance by a Female Actor in Television Movie or Miniseries for her portrayal of blues singer Bessie Smith in the HBO biopic, Bessie.

After her name was announced, a stunned Latifah flexed her muscles and performed some bicep curls with the statue at the podium.

“Thank you, my compadres, brothers and sisters in the struggle, respect to everyone in this category, respect to everyone who voted for me, thank you,” she said during her acceptance speech.

Latifah thanked her creative partner Shakim Compere at Flavor Unit as well as HBO and the cast of Bessie. “I’m really just very grateful,” she said.

Queen Latifah wasn’t the only big winner of the night. Fellow actor Idris Elba took home two actor trophies for his work in the Netflix movie Beasts of No Nation and BBC’s crime series, Luther. The 43-year-old became the first performer to ever take home two Outstanding Actor awards for two individual performances in a single night at the SAG Awards.

Other winners include Viola Davis who won a Outstanding Female Actor in a Drama Series trophy for How to Get Away With Murder and Uzo Aruba for Outstanding Female Actor in a Comedy Series for Orange Is the New Black.

Congratulations to Queen Latifah, Idris Elba, Viola Davis and Uzo Aduba on their respective honors. We can only hope that the Film Academy for the Academy Awards will follow the SAG’s lead for the Oscars in 2017.
