Queen Latifah may be well known for her acting chops but let's not forget that rapping is what put her on the map. The Queen will be returning to her musical roots and is working with Dr. Dre on her latest rap album.

According to reports, she has been finishing up the currently untitled album with Dre and hip-hop vet LL Cool J. "They pretty much did the whole album," she confirmed in a recent interview. "My boy Kenny Flav did one track and I think might do two more. Missy [Elliot] and Swizz Beatz are the only two people I have left. But they're mixing it right now." Fellow rapper-turned-actor Ludacris also wrote a song for the album.

Among the titles that she is considering is "The L-word." Due to constant questioning of her sexuality, the Queen said that such a name would be a playful response to the rumors. "Since people want to play games, I like to jab back sometimes just for fun," she said. "But I'm like, 'Nah, that's too much energy wasted.'" The album is slated for release this winter on Motown records.

This fall Latifah can be seen in the film "The Secret Life of Bees" alongside fellow musicians Alicia Keys and Jennifer Hudson.
