Master P has enlisted a Hollywood heavyweight for his big-screen biopic, which is in development. The No Limit Records founder revealed that Queen Latifah will star in his big-budgeted film.

"The big thing is, 2017, the movie, King Of The South: Ice Cream Man, Master P biopic is coming to theaters," he said (via HipHopDX). "I can’t tell ya’ll right now because we’re still signing the deal right now, but it’s about to be real."

The rap mogul continued by dropping some information about the production. "Queen Latifah and a lot of great actors and actresses are gonna be in this movie," he said. "[Queen Latifah’s] gonna be playing my mom. It’s a good role and I’m grateful and humbled to have someone like Queen Latifah playing an important role because it meant a lot."

"With me and my family - the women in my life, I loved them dearly - my mom, my grandmother. My grandfather and my dad were big influences on my life because they were strong men that was tough on me. You’re gonna see it in the movie."

Queen Latifah knows a lot of about biopics. The 46-year-old actress portrayed blues legend Bessie Smith in the HBO biopic Bessie last year. She even nabbed a Screen Actors Guild Awards for Outstanding Performance by a Female Actor in a Miniseries or Television Movie for her phenomenal work.

When Master P was asked what he wanted people to know about his biopic, he replied, "The movie is not gonna be a shoot-em-up movie. It’s going to be a rags-to-riches story. It’s going to be a love story. It’s going to be somebody making it out of poverty. That’s what I want the world to see."
