Lurid details are now coming out in the child rape case against Nicki Minaj’s brother Jelani Maraj. The 12-year-old alleged victim told prosecutors that Maraj threatened her with anal rape and physical violence if he didn’t go along with what he told her, according to BOSSIP.

On Thursday (March 9), Nassau Assistant District Attorney Emma Slane presented her case to a judge during a hearing in the sex crimes division of Nassau County Supreme Court. The D.A. said she planned to use the girl’s testimony in Maraj’s upcoming trial.

“He would make several threats to her,” Slane said in court. “If she resisted in any way, he would threaten to engage in anal intercourse with her, which she said would hurt her.”

Slane also plans to introduce evidence at trial of Maraj's alleged physically abuse on the alleged victim. According to the prosecutor, Maraj repeatedly hit the young girl until she would start crying.

In addition, Slane claims that when the girl's younger sibling caught Maraj being abusive to the victim he warned her not to tell before slapping her. “After telling the child not to talk about what happened, he struck (the sibling) in the face,” said Slane. “These children were in fear of him.”

But Maraj’s lawyer, David Schwartz, argued not to introduce the allegations of physical violence, citing case law, and showed the judge pictures and video of the alleged victim seemingly happy with Maraj. “This is not a character assassination against Mr. Maraj,” Schwartz said.

Prosecutors had initially offered Maraj a plea agreement of 15 years to life, but the offer was off the table after both sides couldn’t agree on how much time he should serve under the deal.

Maraj’s trial was supposed to start later this month, but the judge pushed it back until mid-April so that a member of the defense’s legal team could have surgery.
