Mobb Deep's Prodigy will be a free man by February 2011. The Queens, N.Y. bred rapper is currently serving a three-year prison sentence at Mid-State Correctional Facility in New Jersey for a gun charge. Alchemist, Eminem's DJ, sat down with MTV's Sway Calloway at the Yankee stadium stop of Em and Jay-Z's Home and Home concerts and broke the news of Prodigy's release.

"P comes home in February. It's gonna be a very busy time. It's amazing. He feels like he's home already," Alchemist revealed. "He's in the best health he's been in. He's really excited. I've been sending him beats. Havoc is sending him beats. I e-mail them to his wife, and she puts it on some type of cassette. It's like he's in the studio, he's just not recording."

Sounds like Prodigy will be prepared to jump in the studio and work on a new Mobb Deep project or a solo album upon his release, but there's no official word on his post-prison plans. The incarcerated rapper released a track dubbed 'Phone Tap' back in March but has yet to drop anything else since.
