Mobb Depp rapper Prodigy will be released from prison on Mar. 7, after completing a three-year sentence for weapon possession charges.

His fellow group member, Havoc, revealed the news during an appearance on Statik Selektah's Shade 45 radio show on Thursday night (Jan. 20). He confirmed that Prodigy would be released from Mid-State Correctional Facility in New Jersey during the first week of March. Back in September, producer and DJ Alchemist originally announced Prodigy would be freed from jail in February. The Queens rapper -- real name Albert Johnson -- was arrested in New York in October 2006, when police discovered a loaded handgun in his bullet proof SUV. He was riding along with Alchemist during the police bust.

Last March, Prodigy released a single track titled 'Phone Tap' from his correctional facility and he is scheduled to begin recording new material upon release. His upcoming biography 'My Infamous Life: The Autobiography of Mobb Deep's Prodigy' is currently set to hit stores on Apr. 19.
