Prince Tribute Concert Will Feature Unreleased Material
Prince’s estate has announced plans to show a live concert featuring recorded video and audio of the late music icon on the second anniversary of his death.
The concert event, titled Prince: Live on the Big Screen, will be held on April 21 at the Target Center in Minneapolis. According to an event description, the show will “feature newly remastered and never-before-released audio and video of Prince accompanied live on the Target Center stage by a super-group of musicians who performed alongside Prince throughout his legendary career.”
There's no official word on if Prince's former band members from both the Revolution and the New Power Generation are the "super-group of musicians" that are going to perform.
The concert is part of the four-day event known as Celebration 2018, which will honor the life and legacy of Prince from April 19-22. More details about the celebration will be announced at a later date.
The Prince estate says that event will "welcome even more of the passionate Prince fan community into a live music event celebrating his iconic artistry and the hit songs that captivated generations of fans.”
Tickets for Prince: Live on the Big Screen will go on sale this Saturday (Jan. 20) at 10 a.m. at the Target Center box office and online via targetcenter.com/prince.
