Pres. Obama is very familiar with rapper Nicki Minaj. While it remains a mystery as to whether or not he listens to the wig-wearing MC's songs on his iPod, he does understand that she embodies a wealth of different characters while spitting her verses. During a recent interview, the Commander-in-Chief, who officially announced his bid for re-election last week, relied on some hip-hop knowledge to explain her Mitt Romney "endorsement."

On Lil Wayne's new song "Mercy," featured on his Dedication 4 mixtape, Minaj rhymes, "I'm a republican voting for Mitt Romney/ You lazy bitches is fuckin' up the economy." Democratic Obama supporters were taken aback by the head Barbz's line, which finds her serving a positive verse centered on according to the president, he thinks it's all a part of her act.

"I'm not sure that is actually what happened," Obama told Orlando's Power 95.3 of Minaj's "endorsement." "I think she had a song on there, a little rap that said that. But, she likes to play different characters. So I don't know what's going on there."

The "I Am Your Leader" performer hasn't addressed the lyrics yet, but come Election Day Nov. 6, Obama's hoping for her vote.
