Post Malone vs. Rae Sremmurd — The Boombox Battle
We thought that Pusha T had a chance to take it all the way, but fellow rapper Post Malone stopped him from retaining the crown. With more than 76 percent, Post's "Boy Bandz" beat King Push's "Crutches, Crosses, Caskets" in last week's Boombox Battle.
After garnering success with his breakthrough single, “White Iverson,” the 20-year-old rapper smooths things out on his new single, “Boy Bandz.” With a melodic flow, he compares his chains to *NSYNC and Backstreet Boys while delivering his verses in the Hollywood Hills, as he shows in the accompanying visual.
“I got *NSYNC dancing on my neck / And these Cubans cost a motherf---ing check / Got boy bands like I’m Lance Bass / ‘Preme ‘lil momma come away,” he spits on the hook.
Rae Sremmurd are Post's opponents this week. Their new track, "By Chance," is something new we're hearing from the Mississppi duo. Produced by none other than Mike WiLL-Made It, the song still has that heavy bounce but now the rappers don't sound like kids anymore. They're much more chilled out and you can hear it in the smoothness of their flow.
“I’m comin’ through with cash, damn my pockets got a leech / You tryna roll with me, you gotta be a ten at least / Mona Lisa with a visa vibing to the beat / No, she not a keeper, she just my little freak," raps Slim Jimmy on the song, which will appear on Mike WiLL-Made It's upcoming mixtape, Ransom 2.
Will Post Malone keep the Boombox Battle crown? Or will Rae Sremmurd snatch it away from him? Now it's time for you to decide. Go vote for your favorite song in the poll below. Remember, you can vote once per hour until the poll closes on Tues., Jan. 12 at 10AM ET.
