Hours after it was reported that 20-year-old Florida rapper XXXTentacion had been shot dead in Deerfield Beach, Fla., Pittsburgh affiliate KDKA confirmed that 21-year-old rapper, Jimmy Wopo, was one of the victims in a double shooting on Monday evening (June 18) in the city's Middle Hill neighborhood.

While the other person who was shot remains hospitalized in stable condition, Wopo (real name Travon Smart) was pronounced dead.  The news was later confirmed by his manager Taylor Maglin.

“I lost my brother today and it’s the worst feeling in the world," Maglin wrote on Facebook in the wake of his death. "He was destined for greatness and he wanted the best for his friends, family and community. We lost a great person today, but just know I will do everything in my power to make his memory live on forever. Love you bro #LongLiveWopo.”

A rapper on the rise, Jimmy Wopo was best known for tracks like "Elm Street" which was featured on his project, Jordan Kobe, as well as his most recent release, "Devil Face" which dropped last month in May.

Pittsburgh rappers Wiz Khalifa and Mac Miller reacted to his untimely death, with Wiz Khalifa writing, “Rest up bro," while Miller posted a heartbroken emoji on Twitter.
