Pitbull Announces Biggest Tour of Career
Miami rapper Pitbull has announced he will be bringing his 'Mr. Worldwide's Carnaval' tour, his largest outing yet, to the U.S. this spring. The bilingual MC is currently in the middle of the international leg of the tour, which stops in Australia, Latin America, Europe and Asia, and will return to the U.S. for the Billboard Latin Music Awards on April 29.
Pitbull's proper U.S. leg kicks off May 25 in Denver and is scheduled to hit 19 cities across America before wrapping June 28 in at Milwaukee, Wisc.'s Summerfest. To complement the Carnaval theme, Pitbull will be touring with a live band and a troupe of Brazilian dancers, and will be promoting his new album 'Armando,' which will be released in both English and Spanish this June.
"He is very much that universal party act," said Rebeca Leon, VP of Latin talent for AEG Live/Goldenvoice, who organized the tour. "Because he's so universal and he plays to so many audiences, it's very hard to put your arms around it. It's a blessing but you have to be really savvy."
Pitbull currently has a song, 'I Know You Want Me (Calle Ocho)' at No. 22 on Billboard's Hot 100 chart, and four songs on this week's Latin Rhythm digital songs chart.
