Underground rap group Little Brother went out on a soft note after rappers Phonte and Big Pooh released their final album ‘Leftback’ without production from former member 9th Wonder, who left in 2007 for reasons unclear. But Phontigallo and 9th are starting out 2011 on a mature note.

Phonte recently announced the reconciliation between he and the Grammy-winning producer, posting a heartfelt explanation on Twitter along with a picture of the pair burying the hatch. “Took 4 years, 2 plates of food and 6 hrs. of convo, but we squashed it. #brotherhood,” he wrote, attaching the picture of them together. “I appreciate the love for me and @9thwondermusic, but us mending our rift had nothing to do with music and everything to do with manhood.”

The North Carolina rapper made sure that fans didn’t get hopes up for a Little Brother reunion, stating that there’s no chance of that happening. “We may collaborate in time, but this is not the start of a LB reunion as neither of us have interest in doing so. Sorry to disappoint,” he explained. “Our friendship began as Phonte Coleman and Patrick Douthit long before a ‘LB’ or ‘9th Wonder’ existed. This was about rebuilding that bond.[…]So in closing, happy new year to all our supporters past and present. Feels great to start the year on a positive note. One love.”

Together, Little Brother had a successful run, releasing four albums and a handful of mixtapes. The group signed and then broke fromAtlantic Records following the release of their sophomore album ‘The Minstrel Show,’ subsequently announcing 9th’s departure from the collective for creative differences. Phonte and 9th got into a heated Twitter argument after the 9th-produced ‘Star’ was offered as an iTunes bonus track from their final album ‘Leftback,’ while the rapper announced the group’s disbandment in April 2010.
