Super-producer Pharrell Williams has a seriously painful project to tend to these days. The 36-year-old is removing his tattoos by way of laser surgery. In several interviews last year, Williams said that he no longer wanted the tattoos adorning his arms and neck as they represented his adolescence. "It's going to be pricey, but f--- it, it's worth it," he said in an interview. "I got fire on my arms. I don't need fire on my arms! I'm a grown man."

While the original procedure was to be done through taking skin grafts and placing them over the existing tattoos Williams opted for the laser treatment instead. "Laser treatment b----es! Extra crispy," he wrote on his blog accompanied by a picture of him with both arms wrapped in bandages. " See, no skin graft here, just pure laser pain. This is our own version of Mythbusters! Laser is the new primer. "

This less invasive treatment is designed to completely remove tattoos without leaving scars. The light of the laser breaks the up the tattoo ink into smaller particles that are then absorbed by the skin. The procedure may require several treatments depending on the amount of tattoos that the patient has and can cause discomfort. Since Williams arms are completely covered with ink, it may take more than a few treatments to completely remove them.

As one half of the popular production duo The Neptunes, Williams has been the force behind hits for Jay-Z, Mariah Carey, Kanye West and Britney Spears. He is also known for his sense of style and has his own clothing line called Billionaire Boys Club, plus a shoe line called Ice Cream Footwear. Williams was named "Best Dressed Man In The World" by Esquire Magazine in 2005.
