Pharrell and Miami-based artist Daniel Arsham's collaboration won't be unveiled until next week, but today we're granted with a first look at their unique project. Inspired by Pharrell's early musical career in the '80s, Arsham has recreated select production equipment using his trademark petrification method.

The designer has recast an original keyboard and drum machine -- two of the first instruments The Neptunes producer ever made music with -- in volcanic ash, rusted steel, crystal, and carbon dust, making them look like "anthropological relics" discovered at an archeology site in the distant future. After all, Pharrell's music is pretty timeless.

The artwork will be officially unveiled at The Standard Hotel in East Village, New York on Sept. 11.
