Petey Pablo has been out of the rap game for a long time, but he resurfaced with a fist-pumping anthem for his beloved North Carolina hometown and the Carolina Panthers.

His latest song, “Carolina Colors,” is not just a braggadocios song about his state, it’s a head-nodding banger that’s perfect for the Carolina Panthers as they head into Sunday night’s NFC Championship Game against the Arizona Cardinals.

Over a stirring, trap music-inspired beat, Pablo cheers on the Panthers team and a few infectious bars. “I'm going to show you how to do thangs / So they won't be no surprises when I come through like the Wu-Tang / 'Cause I came to bring the pain / But it ain't going to be no method to my madness, you know what I'm sayin'?" he raps.

He drives the point home on the chorus, spitting, "I ain't playin' with 'em / Face-to-face, Toe-to-toe with 'em / No more time for talkin' / Put 'em in a coffin / Ain't nobody roll with 'em / We gonna put that bada-boom on 'em / Carolina black and white, blue on 'em."

Granted, it's not like his rambunctious 2001 anthem "Raise Up" but it will do the trick.

Football fans went on Twitter and gave Pablo's Carolina anthem an enthusiastic thumbs up. Some even wondered why fellow North Carolina native J. Cole didn't release a song.

"@DaRealPetey releasing a @panthers song... where you at @JColeNC??" tweeted one fan. Another commenter wrote, "I just saw Carolina Colors [video]. Now @panthers HAVE to hire you for the halftime show!!!"

Now that's not a bad idea.

It's looks like Petey Pablo has scored another anthem for North Carolina. Listen to the song above.
