The sudden death of 'Fast and the Furious' actor Paul Walker has left celebrities and family in a state of shock. The 40-year-old star died in a car accident Saturday afternoon (Nov. 30) in Santa Clarita, Calif. According to People, when police arrived at the scene the vehicle was engulfed in flames. After the fire department extinguished the blaze, they discovered two victims inside the car.

According to a statement posted on Walker’s Facebook page, the actor had participated in a charity car show for his organization, Reach Out Worldwide, to support the Philippines typhoon relief effort. He was riding in a Porsche GT with a friend, when the driver somehow lost control, slammed into a tree and the car burst into flames.

"It is with a truly heavy heart that we must confirm that Paul Walker passed away today in a tragic car accident while attending a charity event for his organization Reach Out Worldwide," the statement read. "He was a passenger in a friend's car, in which both lost their lives. We appreciate your patience as we too are stunned and saddened beyond belief by this news. Thank you for keeping his family and friends in your prayers during this very difficult time. We will do our best to keep you apprised on where to send condolences."

He leaves behind a 15-year-old daughter with an ex-girlfriend.

Rapper Game posted a photo (see above) of Walker on Instagram minutes after news broke of the actor's untimely death. He offered his condolences in a thoughtful message.

"Sad news about a dear friend," he wrote. "One of the best actors & for damn sure a great friend to me & I'm sure everyone else. This saddens me & is a definite reminder of how short life is. When I woke up this morning this is definitely not what I thought I'd have to post at some point during the day. My sincerest condolences & prayers are with his entire family...... A TRUE FRIEND."

Ludacris and Tyrese, two actors who co-starred with Walker in the 'Fast & Furious' franchise, also expressed their deepest sympathies via social media as well.

Ludacris wrote on Instagram, "Your humble spirit was felt from the start, wherever you blessed your presence you always left a mark. We were like brothers & our birthdays are only 1 day apart, now You will forever hold a place in all of our hearts. @paulwalker legacy will live on forever. R.I.P."

Meanwhile, Tyrese is devastated by the loss of his good friend.

"My heart is hurting so bad no one can make me believe this is real," he writes. "Father God I pray that you send clarity over this cause I just don't understand. My heart hurts. It's broken, no one can convince me that this is real.... Prayer warriors please pray real hard for his only child, his daughter and family."
