It's always great to see clever and thoughtful collaborative release. With this release Packer Shoes continues to earn its title as the undisputed champion of telling visual stories in the sneaker world.

From the Saucony Grid 9000 'Snow Beach' to the Reebok Kamikaze II 'Chili Pepper' when it comes to colorways they've done legendary work across the board. Their next topic may be one that they've tackled before but this time they tell the tale of James Worthy yet again as our Sneaker of The Week.

The New Balance 740 'Purple Rain' is a straightforward representation of the Lakers 'Showtime' Era in the 8'0s and to convey that message they dressed the upper in purple suede and mesh with gold accents. An interesting fact about this release however is that this is the first time the shoe has ever been dressed in anything but leather which cracks open a brand new chapter in the sneaker's history.

With additional touches like a velvet lining this Purple Reign take on the shoe is truly fit for a king you are a Lakers fan or not. Look for them to be released exclusively to Packer Shoes on Nov. 18 both in store and online.
