NYPD Shuts Down Set of Fat Joe Video
Having a strong fan base is typically a good thing for most artists, but sometimes it can backfire and that's exactly what happened to rapper Fat Joe last week at the video shoot for his new single 'Hey Joe.'
As expected, the boys in blue, aka NYPD, were on the set with intentions to keep the peace at the Washington Housing Projects in what is known as the Spanish Harlem section of New York City.
Locals and fans came out in large numbers to support the Bronx native and represent their 'hoods, but once the cameras began rolling, 20 minutes into the shot, the police ordered the crew to pack up and shut down due to the colossal size of the crowd.
Unable to continue filming, Fat Joe eventually evacuated the set, leaving the project unfinished. No word has been released on whether or not enough footage was shot for the actual video or if the crew plans to reconvene at a later time.
Joe's new album Jealous Ones Still Envy 2 (J.O.S.E. 2) is scheduled for a May 19 release.
