Nipsey Hussle has been on a roll with a steady release of new music during his #MarathonMondays music series. Today, he takes a victory lap with the release of his mixtape Slauson Boy 2, paired with an extra unheard collaboration with songstress and L.A. native, Stacy Barthe, "Mercy." His latest track may be one of Nipsey’s dopest cuts— ever.

The grooved out ballad is a hauntingly soulful ride through the nostalgia that was (and still is), West Coast G-Funk. Barthe, begs “Mercy please” over a sick beat, and a whining synth line. Slauson Boy 2 features the sixteen records he released during production of the series, including collaborations with Snoop Dogg, Kirko Bangz, Dave East and Young Thug.

The only issue here is, we want more. “Mercy” is centered on Stacy’s vocals with just one verse from Nipsey. It may very well be a teasing effort to prepare our pallets for  his full mixtape.

“Standing at the crossroads/ staring at the cosmos/ I’m a product of this gangbang/ How we end up, only God knows," he spits.
