Nike has found a pretty exciting way to bookend their signature PE models -- the "What the" colorway. It’s where they borrow from each colorway the athlete has released for a colossal collage but this time LeBron has put a special twist on the already interesting concept.

It's the Nike LeBron 12 turn with the "What the" theme instead of looking back at great LeBron James colorways they instead pay homage to Nike’s entire canon on signature athletes and their memorable colorways. This opens up the door for a host of greats including obvious choices like Michael Jordan and Bo Jackson but the pair also goes the further unexpected route of simply celebrating iconic silhouettes. From the Cortez to the Safari this model is loaded down with several nuanced references to great looks throughout the ages.

The Nike LeBron 12 "What the" is scheduled to drop on Sept. 24 for $250. So coordinate your schedule accordingly and make sure to budget for a pair if you’re going to cop.
