Nike Basketball welcomes Cleveland Cavaliers guard Kyrie Irving into an elite circle of athletes with their very own signature shoe. With the release of the Nike Kyrie 1, the player becomes the 20th signature athlete to get his own shoe, which leaves one question: is it dope?

In a word, yes. The player’s first outing with the brand is a technology-laden bootie with a stripped-down feel to it. Form and function meet by way of the Zoom cushioning, which is housed in a raised pattern heel. The heel-counter is inspired by the Sydney Opera House and a Hyperfuse upper plays host to a handwritten No. 2 on the ankle. Irving's "Just Be You" motto is also represented on the heel of its 360-degree dynamic traction outsole.

The multi-colored Nike Kyrie 1 'Dream' drops on Dec. 23, followed by the Nike Kyrie 1 'Deceptive Red' on Jan 10, 2015. Both pairs are set to retail at $110. As an extra bonus, you can see a short clip of what the Nike Basketball legacy means to Irving below.
