Nike is bringing back a classic shoe from the sports world when they collaborated with tennis phenom Andre Agassi in 1988. The Nike Air Tech Challenge II "Clay Blue" was created by legendary sneaker designer Tinker Hatfield who also made the Air Jordan shoes.

This clean shoe boasts a synthetic leather upper, an external heel counter to provide a better fit and comfort. As featured on the first Air Tech Challenge, there is a visible and flexible two-piece Nike Air cushioning system to ensured a fluid motion with each step.

The blue paint spatter across the sneaker is symbolic of Agassi’s powerful backhand on the court. The orange-colored swoosh represents the Agassi’s dominance on the clay courts.

Agassi is thrilled about the release of his newly re-designed tennis sneaker.

“I always wanted to wear the shoes off court, but at that time I worried they would attract too much attention,” he said (via Nike, Inc). “So while I never got to wear them off court back then, I’m excited I get to now.”

You can get excited for them as well. The Nike Air Tech Challenge II “Clay Blue” will be available globally at select Nike Sportswear retailers and on Nike.com beginning March 22.
