Nike Air Max CB34 Godzilla
When it comes to signature sneakers, Charles Barkley had a pretty monstrous run. The "Round Mound of Rebound" has recently bounced back onto the sneaker scene as Nike has been reissuing his retros in quite a few must-have colorways.
Sports and sneaker historians alike will remember the Nike campaign that pitted Charles against Godzilla and this latest colorway is meant to make those memories tangible. On the surface, the allusions are instantly recognizable with slick green reptile elements wrapped around a fiery gradient mid panel and black nubuck base. However, the real treat comes when you turn the lights off to reveal that the reptilian strips glow green as a nod to the monster’s nuclear story of origination.
Charles Barkley’s infamous stance as a non-role model shouldn’t deter you from copping these Nikes for your kids -- they appear to be a grade school only sized release.
