It’s common knowledge that part of sneaker designing is forecasting. And with this year’s Olympics barely over, it’s interesting to know that Nike is already making plans for 2020. They’ve done up a special release of the Flyknit Racer, and it’s got us excited about what else they could have in store as well.

The 2020 Olympics will be held in Tokyo, and in order to pay proper homage to the city’s culture, Nike has given the Flyknit Racer a dye job that dates centuries back in Japanese culture. The model is given a hand-dyed indigo colorway that makes each pair feel intimately different from the others. With special Japanese branding on the tongue tag as well, these are as special as they come, especially since only 100 pair have been made.

The Nike 2020 Olympics Flyknit Racer won’t see a public release so unless you see a pair on eBay you may be out of luck when it comes to copping.
