Nicki Minaj’s brother, Jelani Maraj, has been working with his legal team to clear his name on an alleged child rape case.

According to Bossip, prosecutors are now seeking a court order requesting that Maraj take a DNA test to determine a match on the semen recovered from the accuser’s pants.

Following Maraj’s arrest, police executed a search warrant and found the girl’s pants with a semen stain on them from an unknown male. The alleged 12-year-old victim told cops Maraj raped and sodomized her from April through November 30, 2015 and allegedly raped her the day before his arrest.

Assistant District Attorney Anthony Perri wrote in court documents last week that a buccal swab specimen from the defendant (Maraj) will either exclude him or provide evidence to convict him. The D.A. also asked a judge for permission to photograph and fingerprint Maraj as well.

As we previously reported, Maraj's attorneys, Benjamin Brafman and Andrea Zellan, penned a letter to the Nassau County District Attorney’s Office stating they had reason to believe the tween was (sexually) involved with another “of-age male” at the time in addition to (other) older men. The letter reads:

Our firm has a good faith basis to believe that the complainant in this case has had intimate physical contact with a man who is not the defendant in this case and who is older than 17 years of age and who may have caused there to be physical evidence of repeated vaginal and anal penetration of the complainant.”

If found guilty, Maraj faces 15 years to life in prison for allegedly sodomizing and raping a 12 year-old at least twice over a seven month period.
