Nicki Minaj, Times Square Concert: Rapper Teams With Nokia for Surprise Show

Nicki Minaj has a new album. Nokia has a new smartphone. Sensing a sweet opportunity for cross-promotion, the rapper and tech giant teamed up last night (April 6) in Times Square, treating thousands of New York City tourists to a surprise concert, commercial and video shoot, all in one -- clip below).

In addition to repping the brand-new Lumia 900 phone, the Pink Friday: Roman Reloaded creator performed three songs: "Starships," "Right By My Side" and "Super Bass." She also debuted DJ Doorly's "Starships" remix," informing the crowd that they were being filmed for the accompanying video.

"Thanks to my barbz and my Roman empire," Minaj said. "I love you."

Taking to Twitter later in the evening, Nicki kept the gratitude coming.

"Just had my all time #moment4life," she tweeted, possibly from a Nokia phone. "Thank u sooo much!"
