Nicki Minaj Takes London by Storm, Forced to Cancel Gig
London is crazy for Nicki Minaj. Fans and paparazzi clamored outside the fancy Dorchester Hotel yesterday for a peep at the Young Money femcee's new cotton candy hair-do. Minaj is in Britain, enjoying the country's trademark scones and tea, and promoting her platinum debut 'Pink Friday.' The pandemonium over Minaj even spilled over later into the evening after she announced two surprise gigs in the U.K. capital.
"First stop : Oceana , Second stop : Runway! Let's go LONDON!!!!!!!!" Minaj tweeted on Thursday (Jan. 20.) Her gig at the Oceana club went great, but things didn't go as planned at the trendy Runway club.
"Had a blast @ Oceana! Security issues r now preventing us from entering Runway..." MInaj wrote. According to reports, a fight broke out at the crowded venue and as a safety precaution Minaj decided to bail on the show. The singer was said to have circled the venue several times before making the decision.
But by Friday Minaj was back at it, announcing another appearance in the city. "LONDON!!!! Celebrate my PINK FRIDAY party with me TONITE @ Studio Valbone in the West End!!!!!" Watch out Kate Middleton. As Minaj's 'I'm the Best' lyrics suggest, her next stop might be "the private party at Buckingham Palace."
