Nicki Minaj may be wearing the crown as the "Queen of Hip-Hop," but she has no problem giving credit to other MCs.

In a cover story for the U.K. publication 5 Magazine, Minaj noted Jay-Z as her favorite rapper, likening his lyrics to religious doctrine. "It was like whatever Jay-Z says is the gospel because he was smart," she explained.

The 'Pink Friday' creator appeared with Jay on Kanye West's 'Monster' single, which landed on his 'My Beautiful Dark Twisted Fantasy' album. Despite being a virtual rookie in the game, Nicki Minaj's verse is among the most memorable contributions on the track.

"I was always attracted to intelligent rappers," she revealed. "Like if you can make me think... That's why I'm so into metaphors. I love double meanings of things. Just having people look at things in a different way because all my favorite rappers [Lil Wayne] that's what they do, that's what intrigued me."

Even with her love for hip-hop and her success in the genre, the 26-year-old doesn't want any of her family members to follow suit. "I would never let anyone that I know become a rapper," she said while doing her impression of a British accent.

This summer, Minaj will embark on her second tour of the year, opening for Britney Spears on her Femme Fatale tour, and will headline her very own tour in 2012.
