Lil' Kim may not be a fan of Nicki Minaj, but she still has tons of loyal admirers. The Young Money MC recently responded to being named the new Queen of Hip-Hop by Rolling Stone, a title that she's honored to have.

"It was very, very amazing to me," Minaj told Funkmaster Flex on an episode of 'Funk Flex Full Throttle' on MTV2. The magazine surprised the Queens native with the title, only telling her that she was doing a standard photo shoot and interview. "When I saw the caption on my website, I hit my publicist like, 'Did you guys know they were going to call me the new queen of hip-hop?' I was so excited 'cause they're really respected, and then when I went on all the TV shows, they kept on saying, 'she's been dubbed the New Queen of Hip-Hop by Rolling Stone magazine,' so I was like, that happened at the perfect time."

Since dropping her 'Pink Friday' debut in November, the 26-year-old has been going non-stop. She made history as the first female rapper to have seven songs grace the Billboard Hot 100 chart at one time. And this summer, Minaj will head out with Britney Spears on her Femme Fatale tour.

"I'm honored because I obviously have been working hard to get to this place," Minaj says, remaining humble. "Whether or not I'm the queen of anything, everybody's gonna have their own opinion and I don't do this thinking I'm the queen of this, I'm the queen of that. I just feel like I'm working hard and I just want people to recognize that."
