While folks are keeping their ears to the streets for any word on Kanye West's seventh album and Drake's Views From the Six, R&B heads are getting ready for a treat next month. Janet Jackson returns with Unbreakable, which serves as October's biggest release.

After the Super Bowl wardrobe malfunction derailed her superstar status, Jackson spent the decade existing as a satellite to the zeitgeist. Discipline, her last album, came out in 2009, but fans had a sense she was returning at some point despite the extended hiatus.

Unbreakable will once again feature production Jimmy Jam and Terry Lewis, the dream team behind Jackson's greatest albums. Her J. Cole-assisted single "No Sleeep" proved that their creative spark hasn't vanished even though it's been nine years since they last collaborated (20 Y.O.). There should be more electricity when the long-awaited album arrives Oct. 2.

Hip-hop has industry veterans holding it down for October. There's Game, whose year saw a hit with Drake ("100") and will end fairly nicely with the long-awaited release of The Documentary 2, which drops Oct. 9. Let's also not forget Joe Budden, who's dropping his third studio album, All Love Lost, on Oct. 9.
