New Music Releases – April 2015
With Drake and Kendrick Lamar proving release dates are arbitrary, there's probably going to be a point when our monthly "New Music Releases" feature will no longer serve a purpose. But some rappers are still keeping it traditional, so here we go.
Presuming Kanye West doesn't surprise us with So Help Me God, April will be tamer than the past three months. The most notable release is Raekwon's F.I.L.A. (Fly International Luxurious Art). Raekwon's first release since 2011's Shaolin Vs. Wu-Tang has been continuously delayed thanks, in part, to bickering with RZA and a Wu-Tang album that most of the Wu-Tang didn't even promote. The album, which is presumably better than the Raekwon-as-Sphynx cover, finally arrives April 28.
Next on the light slate is Bodega Bamz. The New York rhymer had a tame 2014 compared to his prior breakout year. He still has a decent amount of hype behind Sidewalk Exec, his debut album. That is scheduled to drop on April 14.
The rest of April's planned releases include Flo Rida's My House (which includes "G.D.F.R.," also known as that song you keep hearing in those NBA commercials), Yelawolf's Love Story and MGK's Coast 2 Coast 208. Check out when they drop below.
