The battle between R&B singer/songwriters rages on and it looks like Ne-Yo prevailed. After being kicked off R. Kelly's tour last year, Ne-Yo filed a lawsuit against the concert promoter Rowe Entertainment. When Rowe failed to respond, a L.A. Superior Court judge jumped in and ruled that Ne-Yo is to be paid $700,000 for his services.

Ne-Yo claimed he was kicked off the tour because he was too big of a star and was upstaging Kelly. However, Rowe Entertainment has stated that Ne-Yo's contract was never finalized, which is the real reason the crooner got the boot. Perhaps Ne-Yo should have known better after the Best of Both Worlds tour fiasco.

Ne-Yo's latest album 'Year Of The Gentleman' drops Sept. 16.
