The music community has been uncharacteristically vocal regarding T.I.'s recent drug arrest, with criticism coming from heavyweights like 50 Cent to R&B singer/songwriter Ne-Yo.

In a recent interview with the Associated Press, Ne-Yo said that, while T.I. is one of the smartest people in music, he has damaged his career by keeping bad company.

"I just feel that he makes a lot of poor decisions when it comes to the people that he surrounds himself with," Ne-Yo explained. Though the 'Closer' singer conceded that he doesn't know T.I.'s entourage personally, "nine times out of 10 when he gets in trouble, it's not him, it's the people that he's with."

Having recently married longtime girlfriend Tiny, a No. 1 movie -- 'Takers' -- in the box office and almost finished his new album 'King Uncaged,' T.I. seemed poised to finally achieve the mainstream success that always evaded him, due to his frequent legal issues.

But alas, once again, he found himself in trouble with the law.

"You've been given a bunch of different chances," Ne-Yo continued. "Now is the time to really go, 'You know, I get it, all right. I get it."
