At a Mass Appeal listening event for the newly-released 'Run the Jewels 2' album in Brooklyn, N.Y., Nas made a surprise appearance and delivered a jewel that should have rap fans rejoicing. The Queens MC unveiled a song that he recorded over a beat produced by the late and great J Dilla.

The song, titled 'The Season,' features Nas spitting over Dilla's 'Gobstopper' instrumental from the 'Donuts' album. Over the jazzy loop, the veteran rhymer raps, "Rise to your feet for this rarity / Nas and Dilla beat / The flyest soliloquy."

Elsewhere, Nas talks about being a hip-hop king and the fact he's unable to enjoy the fruits of his labor without people throwing stones at him. He also has a line denying that Jay Electronica and Jay Z write his rhymes. In response to the critics, he spits, "Let me make this clear / They fear the gifted."

Finally, Nas salutes Dilla and the city of Detroit aka the Motor City.

No word on when this song will drop, but it definitely needs to be released. If you ever wondered what Nas will sound like over a Dilla beat, you've finally got your answer.
