Hip-hop heads almost got an epic collaboration. On DJ Khaled's We The Best Radio show, Nas explained how he almost hopped on a remix of Biggie's "Gimme the Loot." Unfortunately, Esco got distracted by a certain leafy plant.

“He wanted to get me on [Biggie's debut album] Ready To Die, and by the time I finished my first joint that was already out. He was trying to get me on Ready To Die, and it never happened. So he wanted to do the ‘Gimme The Loot’ remix,” said Nas. “He put up the beat, and I started writing. But he started smoking.”

And this is where it went haywire. “He had some of that chocolate. He lit some of that up, and it was late. We’re lit. I’m like, ‘I ain’t got nothing. This is over today.'”

What might've been back in 1994? We can only dream.

It's been four years since Nas dropped Life is Good, and the Queens, New York native is gearing up to release his next studio album -- but he's still working on getting his writing mojo.

“[I’m] just trying to feel the inspiration, just trying to get the vibe. One month I know what I’m doing. The next month I’m starting all over again,” said Nas. “So it’s a lot of that back-and-forth, just grabbing the inspiration. That’s what’s holding the whole thing.”

What do you think of the possible collaboration? Would it have been epic or nah? Let us know what you think in the comments!
