It looks like the success of 'Notorious' has prompted Hollywood to green light more rap-related titles, finally. Entertainment Weekly reports that New Line Cinema is currently developing "an urban drama" about legendary gangsta rap pioneers N.W.A., entitled 'Straight Outta Compton.'

The film will "chronicle the rise and fall of the rap quartet, founded by Eazy-E, Dr. Dre, Ice Cube, and MC Ren...the inevitable fiery breakup, a grudge match between the former bandmates, and Eazy's tragic death due to AIDS."

Like 'Notorious,' the producers of the film will be people who were deeply involved in the group, including Cube, Dre and Eazy's widow, Tomica Wright. They are currently looking for a director to helm the project, someone "along the lines of Curtis Hanson (8 Mile)."

No word, as yet, as to whether The Game will try to get on set somehow/add movie-themed tats to his N.W.A. ensemble of ink, or how the film will differ from Chris Rock's classic, 'CB4,' but we're excited to see.
