N.O.R.E. Explains Jumping Incident in Prodigy’s Book

Johnny Nunez/

As Mobb Deep fans run to bookstores to score a copy of Prodigy‘s new read, ‘My Infamous Life: The Autobiography of Mobb Deep’s Prodigy,’ they’ll find an interesting account inside that involves Queens rapper N.O.R.E.

In the book, P details an incident years ago outside of a nightclub called Krystals on Merrick Blvd. in Jamaica, Queens, where the Mobb Deep rapper’s associates jumped the ‘Super Thug’ rhymer. As a result of the altercation, N.O.R.E. opened fire on his assailants, shooting Nitty, a member of Prodigy’s entourage.

While he doesn’t deny the events occurred, N.O.R.E., born Victor Santiago, Jr., feels a certain code should have been followed when Prodigy sat down to pen his autobiography.

“There are certain things that you’re not supposed to talk about,” the ‘Melvin Flynt — Da Hustler’ creator told MTV. “Now, I didn’t read the book and I don’t read where he’s going crazy. I read the little inserts where he [talked] about the jumping incident. Let me just clear the record up and say: None of the things that it says in the book would ever make me go at him. I’m not gonna see him and try to throw him in the full nelson.”

N.O.R.E. also defended his reputation in the book, after hearing that Prodigy claimed the C-N-N member was robbed of his chain during the beatdown. According to N.O.R.E., he “never got robbed in my life” and was barely touched by the 40 men who attacked him.

The rapper, who has six albums as a solo artist and four as part of C-N-N, will be dropping a new mixtape, ‘NORE-Easter,’ on Sunday (April 24).
