You've got to respect an MC who's not only been doing it for 21 years, but has been doing it on his terms.

Murs just dropped his tenth studio album Captain California, and there's a chance you've already heard the first single, "God Bless Kanye West."

The LP include tracks like "Lemon Juice" featuring Curtiss Kings, "Another Round," featuring Krizz Kaliko, "Animals Damnit," with Beleaf and "Wanna Be High," featuring Big Too Big. Overall, there are 13 songs for your listening enjoyment.

In a recent interview, the West Coast wordsmith said Captain California will contain a lot of stories that he hopes will enlighten people. “The whole album is based on my love of comic books," Murs explains. "I'm making things colorful and vivid and telling stories where I sensationalize them without glorifying them."

The 38-year-old rhymer also talked about "God Bless Kanye West" and why he chose to speak about mental health in the song.

"We pray for each other, and I believe in the power of prayer, but we could really use more mental health professionals in our community instead of mocking Kanye West," said Murs in a press release (via XXL). "He's having problems, and he's having to work through it. He's like a football player playing hurt, to me."
