Fans have been clamoring for a legitimate Black Star reunion on record for more than a decade now, but they will have to settle for a tour behind the launch of a new Sony product. The two Black Star MCs -- Mos Def and Talib Kweli -- are joining forces for a rare road foray as part of the launch of Sony Playstation's newest PSP device. Yes, the conscious duo are technically hawking video games, but the lineup is definitely a dream come true for those that like traditional New York hip-hop. Joining Mos and Talib at select stops will be Pharoahe Monch, Jean Grae and K'Naan.

The tour, officially titled 'Sony Playstation's Breed Love Odyssey Tour,' began on Oct. 28 and will wind through the country before culminating in New York City in December. In addition to the performances, each show will have an interactive component where fans can play the new PSP and learn about the new features the Sony has developed over the past few years.

There's also a pretty good trade-in deal going down at each stop. Attendees are encouraged to bring existing PSPs so that they can get a free copy of NBA '06 and a gift card that's good for 25 free music downloads. Everyone will also get a card for an exclusive new song from Mos Def.

"The PSP shares these attributes with the artists and thus the partnership delivers the ultimate combination of entertainment." said Sharon Shapiro, senior director, promotions and sports marketing, Sony Computer Entertainment America.
